Our 3-day Tactical Intelligence Course is designed for professionals and concerned citizens interested in security and preparedness planning. This course is a deep dive into intelligence gathering, analysis, area studies, threat assessments, and mission support to emergency and community security operations. Overview:

Students are immersed in a 3-day intelligence operation, and get hands-on practice while running a mission support site (MSS). Through the course of three days, students will plan and run three practical exercises: 1) conduct intelligence gathering and reconnaissance in support of an Area Study, 2) provide intelligence support to a search and rescue mission, and 3) battle track a riot.

Course Syllabus:

  • Area Assessments: Students learn the foundations of intelligence by planning, researching, and preparing an Area Study of the Area of Operations. Students will gain knowledge and experience in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), reconnaissance, and critical thinking and analysis.

  • Threat Analysis: Students will prepare an overview of the AO’s threat environment, keying in threats, hazards, and other conditions that can impact the mission.

  • Requirements Management: Students will gain an understanding of intelligence and collection requirements by preparing Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) collection plans in support of the mission.

  • Mission Analysis/Mission Support: Students will learn about the mission planning process and how to manage and drive operations through intelligence.

  • Intelligence Networks: Students will gain an understanding of human intelligence (HUMINT) networks and network design throughout the 3-day course.

  • ACE Ops: Students will learn the key components and responsibilities of an Analysis & Control Element (ACE), and gain experience practicing each of the four roles.

  • Battle Tracking: Students will gain experience battle tracking developments in a deteriorating security situation and practice tracking events during a riot.

Day 2: Intelligence Gathering & Analysis, Set Up a Mission Support Site, Support Search and Rescue Operations

Day 3: ACE Operations, Battle Tracking/Riot Culminating Exercise

Q: Is this course suitable for beginners?

A: Absolutely. This course is intended to build a base of knowledge around the fundamentals and then crawl-walk-run students into a real-time intelligence exercise.

Q: Can groups participate together?

A: Yes! We have lots of preparedness and other groups who take this course as a team. You can be on the same mission support team, or join a team as an individual.

Q: Are there any physical requirements for participation?

A: We recommend that attendees have a basic level of fitness because this course does have a mix of field and classroom activities.

Q: Are meals and accommodations included?

A: Due to many factors, we do not provide meals or accommodations, however, we can make recommendations on area hotels.

Q: Is there a cancellation or refund policy?

A: We incur significant travel and course prep costs. Students can cancel up to one month before the course start and receive a full refund if we can fill your seat. Cancellations within one month are handled on a case by case basis.
